How do I dispose of just a portion of an asset?

Resolution:

In this case it is a section of carpeting that was disposed of in Fixed Assets.

As long as the amount you want to dispose of is less than the remaining unposted depreciation you should be able to use menu option #24  Add-on Depreciation. Enter the amount you want to dispose of as a negative and the program will reduce the purchase price and the remaining unposted depreciation by that amount.
