Prepay Expenses

Question:

We are on an accrual basis of accounting, can we post expenses in the correct period and prepay them?

Resolution:

The AP system does not allow you to pay an invoice in a period prior to that in which it is expensed. If this were possible it would cause problems with the end-of-month processing.
