Question:
Why do some of my screens look different than other users in same inquiry?
Resolution:
Some screens can be viewed in either an 80 column or a 132 column format. The format used is controlled on a user by user basis and can be changed as needed.
Take option 1-General Functions from the Main menu.
Then take option 1-X-App File Maintenance Menu and then option 19-Control 80/132 Column Output.
Enter the User Id and press ENTER to display the current user settings.
Listed on the left are the various programs that offer 80 vs 132 column display options. At the right of the screen is the field 'OPT'.
There are 4 values that can be entered:
1 = 80 Col Use when the 80 column format is always desired for that function.
2 = 132 Col Use when the 132 column format is always desired for that function.
3 = Once per signon Use when you wish to decide which format to use when you access that function each time you sign on.
4= Once per program Use when you wish to decide which format to use EACH time you access that menu option.
Once you have entered the value(s), press ENTER and F20 to accept. Make sure the user signs off and on in order for this to take effect.
CAUTION: This screen allows for deletion. The DLT column is on the left and the value to enter in this column is '4'. If you are setting up for 'Once per program' access, be careful to verify that you did not request the 'delete' instead.
NOTE: If you choose the 132 column option, your Display must be set to accommodate the 132 columns. At the top of the screen in the toolbar area, click on 'Communications', and then click on configure. Change the size from 24x80 to 27x132 and click OK.
