My Trial Balance is out of balance, how do I fix?

Question:

My Trial Balance is out of balance, how do I fix?

Resolution:

The first step was to review the account in GL Inquiry Screen. (From the GL Main menu take #2 Inquires and Reports and then #1 for G/L inquires). It was determined that there were entries in one of the divisions and there was a credit entry associated with this division which was most likely causing the trial balance to be out of balance.

Next, we used the Drop G/L Entries (From the Year End Processing Menu select option #2 Drop G/L Records) Note: All users must be out of GL while this is being run.

Changed the profile Year End: Create B/F for All entities for all corporations to ‘N’ (It was determined that this was causing the problem)

Next, we ran year end close for all corporations. (From Year End Processing menu #1 Close the Year)

Re-Ran the Trial Balance (From Inquires and Reports #11 Trial Balance) and the problem was resolved.
